SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS
Join us on an incredible adventure of snorkeling with wild dolphins. Once the equipment is fitted and after a first briefing, about what you can expect from the tour and safety procedures, we head out for a short simulation, so you get used to the equipment and teach you the best way to enter in the water, minimizing the impact on the dolphins for a safe and fun tour. Then the “Vigia” (whale and dolphin spotter) will guide the boat to a dolphin area. Listening and watching them in their natural habitat it will be an unforgettable experience.
For those who choose not to enter in the water when booking and children under the age of ten. Notice, it will be not considered as No Swimmer, customers who give up, demonstrate poor swimming skills or show inability with the equipment required during the activity.
OUR SIGHTING GUARANTEE
In our Swimming with Dolphins activity, we cannot predict if it will be only dolphins, only whales or both on a single tour, since we work with wild animals, and their behavior is unpredictable. However, we guarantee to sight at least one dolphin or whale species listed for the Azores. If no dolphins and no whales species are sighted during the tour, the customer will have the possibility of another free tour, or in case of unavailability due to weather conditions, a full refund.
WHALE OR DOLPHIN SPECIES OBSERVED AND NO SWIMMING
Although our aim is to swim with dolphins, we cannot predict whether we will achieve it, since we work with wild animals, and their behavior is unpredictable. Nevertheless, if at least one species of dolphin or whale is observed and it is not possible to swim with dolphins (note: swimming with whales is forbidden in the Azores, only available when authorized by the Government of the Azores and for purposes that promote its conservation and sustainability), customer will have the possibility of another free tour, or in case of unavailability due to weather conditions, the No Swimmer fee will be applied.
RESPONSIBLE SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS
We daily commit ourselves to a responsible conduct when approaching dolphins and whales that visit or reside in the Azores, in our Swimming with Dolphins activity (note: swimming with whales is forbidden in the Azores, only available when authorized by the Government of the Azores and for purposes that promote its conservation and sustainability). Our participation in Research and Environmental Education with the local community and tourism allows us to obtain and disseminate important information about them in their natural habitat, contributing for what we believe is the right path for their conservation.
